Position: Experienced Deli/Caf&eacute ClerkLocation: Askew's Uptown Salmon Arm Role Summary Askew's Uptown is seeking an experienced Deli/Caf&eacute Clerk. This full-time position involves: Establishing recipes and cooking procedures for homemade dishes; such as soups, salads, sandwiches and other homemade eat in/take out dishes Training employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment Basic understanding of retail margins Maintaining adequate stock through timely delivery and efficient inventory management Supervising employees in the department Promoting food safety and employee health and safety within the department Providing outstanding customer service Merchandising for the department Education or Experience 2 years related deli department and/or restaurant experience 1 year of experience in a role that involves leading and managing employees Understanding of managing sales and margins Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Interests Creative self-starter who is efficient, hardworking, and productive and can share in the vision for this important department Interest in creating and presenting an inviting array of deli foods Hands on experience with professional coffee machines Willingness to try new items and be at the forefront of new trends Ability to assist in the management of this complex multi-faceted department to achieve target levels of profitability Working with a team to set and achieve common goals Customer service and problem solving skills Willingness to accept responsibility when necessary We offer a comprehensive benefits and pension package.
