Chester * Bonded To Chey - Mastiff Dog

Shelter: BC SPCA - Shuswap Branch Animal ID: 530478 Birthdate: June 18, 2018 - Adult Spayed/Neutered: Yes Male Chester is a large, friendly, calm, easy-going dog. He is very bonded to Chey (his mom) so we are looking for a home to adopt both of them. He can be nervous of new things (eg a brush) so will need to be introduced to these slowly. He doesn't appear to have had any formal obedience training so would benefit from going to classes. This would help him learn new skills as well as bond with his new guardian. He is quick to learn and eager to please. Chester is looking for a home with no small animals (eg cats, chickens etc.) He walks nicely on leash but tends to want to do his own thing and may stop abruptly and not move if he doesn't want to go somewhere. He responds best to gentle training in short sessions, keeping it fun and varied. He can be easily distracted so will require a patient guardian. Chester likes to be with his people so may get anxious when left alone. He will need to get used to spending time alone slowly a few minutes at a time. Chester is looking for a patient guardian who can spend lots of time with him. He is sociable and bonds quickly. He will be a loyal companion to a lucky guardian!
