Shelter: BC SPCA - South Okanagan/Similkameen Branch Animal ID: 537325 Birthdate: October 14, 2016 - Adult Spayed/Neutered: Yes Male Patch is a shy, diamond in the rough looking for his chance at a loving fur-ever home with his brother and close pal, Pee Wee. Patch and his feline housemates came into the BC SPCA after their senior owner sadly passed away and it was very traumatic for Patch. He is used to a very quiet adult home with no children so coming into a shelter has been very scary for him. He can be incredibly shy at first and likes to have places to hide until he adjusts to his new environment so needs a quiet adult only home. He'll need a gentle and patient guardian who will give him the time he needs and lots of love to draw him out of his shell. He is a sweet boy who will share his love once he bonds to his person. After the recent upheaval of the life he knew Patch would be happiest if he could find a home where both him and his bosom buddy, Pee Wee, can live together. Having Pee Wee around really helps him relax more quickly and we always say 2 cats is better than one, especially when they are both such handsome gentlemen. They possibly could get along with other animals with proper, slow introductions. Patch is a pretty big boy and happens to be overweight so it will be important that a future guardian works to help him lose a few pounds so that he can have a long, healthy life. A proper diet with a food that encourages weight loss and urinary health is always a good idea. Talk to staff about what food Patch and Pee Wee are currently on.These lovely boys can't wait to find that special home that will lift the sadness from their hearts and bring new joy into their lives. Could you be that special someone? A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic our adoption process has changed. Please visit our website https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/how-to-adopt/ for more information. All adoptions are by appointment only once we have received an application. ***Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review their application. We are not able to call all applicants.***
