$1,234 · Facing Homelessness, or the threat of?

Are you finding yourself facing or already living a scenario you never really imagined? Homelessness. -Did your landlord sell your house to due to the pandemic? -Did you loose your job and get evicted because you couldn't pay rent? Or couldn't pay your mortgage and lost your house? -Are you are and your kids sleeping on a friend's floor? Or couch? Or in your minivan? These are just a few desperate situations I've seen over again from friends and family lately. I'm horrified when I think about how many people are/will be homeless in 2020/2021. The situation is widespread and devastating. And I feel our governments are overlooking the ordeal entirely. Me and my 3 children will be homeless as if January. Our landlords sold our house, and I've been searching for an appropriate rental for 3 months now to no avail. We've retrofitted our friend's shed into a makeshift bedroom and moved everything we own into storage... This is a harsh reality so many are facing right now. In Jan. 2021, I'm going to make a short film and web campaign that showcases real people, including myself, and a glance into our desperate situations we're currently living. As a sort of plea to our govt. to do something. Right now I feel we're invisible, We need them to see with their own eyes the hell we're going through! If you would like to help with this cause please email me with your written story (may include some photos if you choose, for example, you standing in front of your makeshift car-home), and/or a short video showing telling and showing your living situation. And 2 or 3 ideas that you think the gov. could do to improve your situation. I will compile what you send into a video, and I will send everyone involved the draft, and get your input on edits, to ensure everyone is 100% okay with the video before it is posted online. I ask that anyone who wants to be involved have their stories in by Wed. Jan.13th 2021. I am hoping to have the video and campaign released sometime between the 18th-22nd of January. Together I think we can capture the attention of enough people, media outlets, and our govts to make a difference. We need to make some noise! Please contact me if you wish to contribute!
