Chevy - Husky Dog

Shelter: BC SPCA - Vernon & District Animal ID: 480500 Birthdate: February 01, 2017 - Adult Spayed/Neutered: No Male Meet Chevy, this sweet and fun boy ended up in our care after an unfortunate encounter with a vehicle that left him needing some medical attention. In addition to the obvious exterior wounds and bruising Chevy also has a caudal ligament tear in his hind leg. Fortunately he does not require surgery for it at this time, instead he will require short term pain medication and short leashed walks and controlled energy level (so no vigorous playing) for the next 2 months. Perspective adopters will need to be aware that while he does not require surgery at this time there is always the possibility that at some point in his life he might. Despite the stressful way Chevy found his way in to our care he has been a delight to have around and quickly became a staff and volunteer favorite. He is very eager to learn and is always up for a training session, as long as treats are involved! He already knows sit, stay, shake a paw and lay down but would love to continue learning new tricks and commands. Chevy is a bit of a king when it comes to his people, he very much wants all the attention to himself and is looking for a home with out other animals that he would have to share the limelight with. He is reactive towards other dogs so new owners will need to be committed to working through this with him, luckily he is treat motivated and eager to learn! Chevy is not a fan of being left alone, he can be quite the escape artist if he is. Although he is short in stature, when left alone he will clear a 5 foot fence from a stand still and come find you.
