Excavator Operator - Utility/Sewer & Watermain (Vernon, Armstrong, Princeton)

Excavator Operator (Utility/Sewer and Watermain) (Vernon, Armstrong, Princeton) Experience Requirements: • Experience in operating 228-350 sized Excavators. • Operate equipment in a safe and professional manner. • Experience working for a utility's contractor is an asset. • Minimum 5 years experience preferred in the heavy equipment operations in civil construction. • Ability to work with a sewer/watermain crew under the supervision of a foreman. • Ability to excavate for the installation of mainline sewer/watermain, chambers, manholes, services, backfill, and road reconstruction in traffic closures and around exiting utilities. • Safety orientated, self-motivated, and work well with others. • Capacity for manual dexterity with physical strength and stamina. • Capability to work long hours per day in all weather conditions. • Strong interpersonal, team participation and communication skills. • Ensure all equipment and components are in good working condition always, perform inspections. • Follow company policies and procedures for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure units are operating properly. Report any deficiencies to the Supervisor. Certification Requirements: • Valid Class 5 Drivers License (required) • Heavy Equipment Operator Certification (not required but considered an asset) • Level 1 First Aid (not required but considered an asset) • Construction Safety Training, WHMIS 2015, Ground Disturbance (all not required but considered an asset, training provided if necessary) • Drug and Alcohol screening is required.
