Doorman / Security Attendant — Downtown Nanaimo Venue

Location: Downtown Nanaimo, BC Compensation: $25/hour Hours: 8:30 PM to 2:30 AM Employment Type: Part-Time --- About the Role We’re looking for a dependable and professional Doorman / Security Attendant to join our downtown Nanaimo team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a lively nightlife environment while maintaining a calm, confident, and welcoming presence. You’ll be responsible for greeting guests, checking ID, ensuring safety and compliance, and helping maintain a positive atmosphere for everyone. --- Responsibilities Greet guests and check government-issued ID for age verification Monitor guest entry, exits, and capacity limits Maintain a friendly, respectful environment De-escalate conflicts calmly and professionally Support staff with safety and security matters Ensure compliance with liquor and venue regulations --- Qualifications Valid BC Security Worker License (Required) 2+ years experience in hospitality, nightlife, or customer service required Strong communication and situational awareness Dependable, professional, and composed under pressure Comfortable working late nights and weekends --- What We Offer $25/hour Consistent evening shifts Supportive, team-oriented workplace Opportunity to grow with an established downtown venue
